Review:
Honestly, I have never really been an Almay fan throughout my life. Many of their products just missed the mark for me. However, I was in CVS and saw these eyeshadow palettes on sale and figured I would give it a go! The palette that I purchased is made for green eyes. I was not really expecting much from these eyeshadows, but boy was I shocked with how awesome they were! Especially with an eyeshadow primer to keep everything in place.
As mentioned above, the shades have numbers 1-5 inside the palette. In the green eyes palette, shade number 1 is a cool taupe/brown color. This shade goes all over your lid and eyelid crease. Number 2 is a shimmery gold color that you can layer over your eyelid. I used this primarily in the inner corner of my eyes and feathered it outwards to provide a more bright eyed look. Number 3 is a glittery deep purple/plum color that goes in the crease and outer corner of the eye. Shade number 4 is a very dark plum/black color that you can use as an eyeliner. I took my thin eyeliner brush and drug it across my upper lash line to create a subtle cat eye effect. Last, but not least, there is shade number 5 which is a nude-shimmery color. This is to highlight your brow bone.
I want to note that this product does kick up a fair amount of powder inside the palette. However, it does not fall all over my face when applying on top of an eyeshadow primer. Surprisingly, the colors are very pigmented, in a good way. As a result, I did not have to touch up my eyeshadow later in the day. Everything stayed perfect and beautiful! If you’re looking for a budget-friendly eyeshadow palette, this is a good buy! You can pick up the Almay Intense I-Color Palette designed for your eye color, or mix and match to have some fun!
